The results of treatment of carcinoma of the cervix in Western Australia.

The treatment of carcinoma of the cervix in Western Australia since 1980 has gone through several phases. Between 1950 and 1960 it was the policy of one gynaecological team in Royal Perth Hospital to give radical external therapy with or without radium and follow this with radical surgery ; however, a slightly greater number had radiation only in the hands of the other team. For patients with late stage disease, an attempt has been made to use hormones. It is my suggestion that when nothing further can be done for these patients except the consideration of a cordotomy for pain, a trial of hormones should always be undertaken. If no effect occurs within a fortnight on Progesterone and steroids, then a fortnight’s trial of the male or female hormone is always indicated.

The cure of cancer. A preliminary hypothesis.

Cancer can be cured when the method of treatment specifically kills cancer cells only without damage to the normal. It has been established by microscopic examination of cancers treated with microwave radiation will kill cancer cells without harm to the surrounding normal cells.  Cytotoxic drug therapy is dead in its present form. Perhaps it may occasionally survive in association with other methods for some rare cancers. All current cancer research in the world becomes pointless, except that relating to human cancer and microwave therapy.

Increase in X-ray sensitivity of cancer after exposure to 434 MHz electromagnetic radiation

The proportion of cancer cells killed by using H-wave polarised 434 MHz electromagnetic radiation applied fifteen minutes before low doses (50 to 80 rads) of X-radiation (140, 220, 330 KV, 4 MeV and Co/sup 60/sources) is between three and over one hundred times better than X-radiation alone. The cause of cancer: biochemical defects in the cancer cell demonstrated by the effects of electromagnetic radiation, glucose and oxygen.

The responses of a person carrying a cancer to 434 MHz electromagnetic radiation are such that they demonstrate that each human cell contains at least two separate respiratory pathways which can convert glucose to energy. The first pathway produces energy by an anaerobic mechanism and it can be demonstrated that this energy is used for the purpose of cell replication. The second pathway(s) produces energy from glucose by aerobic oxidative processes which can be shown to energise other cellular functions. One of these functions is that of controlling its own cell division. Other demonstrable functions of this aerobic energy producing mechanism are concerned with individual cellular repair processes, multicellular organisation and repair and the preservation of gross anatomical perfection. Release of the first or anaerobic system from supervisory control by the second or aerobic sytem(s) permits the unlimited cell division which is the phenomenon known as cancer. The available circumstantial evidence suggests that this is not the result of nuclear or chromosomal defects or mutations but is due to direct irreversible sublethal damage to the cellular aerobic glucose metabolic system whilst the anaerobic system remains intact.

The cancer cell appears to contain two non phosphorylating glycolytic pathways in addition to phosphorylating glycolysis and the aerobic citric acid and phosphogluconate cycles. It is hypothesised that these pathways are all interconnected and in the static adult cell non phosphorylating glycolysis is in a state of controlled inactivity. Cancer occurs when one or both non phosphorylating glycolytic pathways escape from control thereby producing an autonomous flow of energy and mitosis. Both pathways appear dependent upon glutathione to convert glucose to lactic acid. The pathways can be differentiated by their responses to ionising and 434MHz non ionising radiation, hyperthermia and biochemical environmental changes in vivo.


 

The glutathione cycle is the creative reaction of life and cancer. Cancer causes oncogenes and not vice versa.

Life is definable as a chemical reaction which obeys exponential growth and dies if reversed. Such a reaction must be the commencement of all life so that every evolved form of it inherits these characteristics. As no single reaction known has these two features, life must be a combination of two or more reactions which whilst obeying all the classical laws of physics and chemistry assume an exponential form and effectively act as being irreversible. The reactions of glutathione--oxidation and reduction--when combined in sequence as a cyclical process fulfill these criteria. The cyclic changes of glutathione from reduced to oxidised to reduced forms must therefore be the reaction which creates life and is responsible for cancer's growth. 434 mHz electromagnetic radiation stimulates cancer growth rate by forcing this cycle into activity. Proof of this hypothesis is the long-term control of cancer in 11 patients treated with oxidised glutathione and 434 mHz radiation. Genetic material does not contain any energy system with exponential form, neither is it self-replicating. Genetic material will only reproduce if placed within an immortal cell in which all controls of the glutathione system have been lost, as in a cancer cell. Oncogenes must be the product of cancer and not the reverse.

The cyclic reaction of GSH-->GSSG-->GSH (designated R(exp) or R(e)) obeys the three specific features of life by producing energy in exponential quantities relative to time, is in effect irreversible and is inherited from generation to generation. In multicellular life, this reaction produces the energy for mitosis and is kept in controlled inactivity until needed to maintain perfection of form and function by energising mitosis. The immediate control of Re appears to be feedback process-dependent on the concentration of GSSG. Ultra high-frequency electromagnetic radiation of 434 MHz (UHF) will change Re from inactive to active and, in so doing, it causes resonance and/or fluorescence of the glutathione cycle which changes its radiosensitivity. Re is the primary direct target of ionising radiation and produces the energy for mitosis. Clinical observations suggest that, in the normal cell, Re is inactive and is not killed by 3 x 2700 rads or 6 x 1650 rads yet, when active, its sensitivity value (DO) is approximately 160 rads. Using the standard radiobiological equation of response to ionising radiation, it can be deduced that radiosensitive cancers have two or three Re units active per cell and radioresistance increases in proportion to the number of potentially active Re units per cell. Re appears to be the main cause of cancers' increased conductivity of electricity compared with normal tissue. In cancer therapy, UHF is the best radiosensitiser ever discovered (up to two or more decades). Re is also intelligent compared with non-exponential reactions but cannot be the basis of intellectual brain functions which must be based on non-electrical chemical processes.

Cancer therapy by immobilizing mitotic energy sources

Exponential growth is the unique characteristic of life. Destruction of a cancer colony by x-ray therapy follows unique exponential form. Uniquely, life grows exponentially, is irreversible and must reproduce these two features by a transfer process creating successive generations of life from inanimate objects. The two electrochemical reactions of oxidized (GSSG) and reduced (GSH) glutathione create a cyclic process akin to a dynamo. This system is denoted ERex or the electrochemical reaction creating exponential quantities of electrons with time. Cysteine (-SH-) is the basis of life. This energy can only be used for reproduction. Cancer is uncontrolled reaction ERex. ER is the direct target of ionizing radiation. The conversion of methionine to cystathionine in exponential quantities proportional to time is the base repository of learning. This combined reaction has been called CRex. The concentration of cystathionine in brain is greatest in man. Alzheimer’s disease appears as an uncontrolled product of CRex in a similar manner to cancer being an uncontrolled product of ERex.
