Macular degeneration, also known as Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD or ARMD), is a medical condition which may result in blurred vision or no vision in the center of the visual field. Over time a gradual worsening of vision may affect one or both eyes. This loss of central vision can make it difficult to recognize faces, drive, read, or perform other activities of daily life. Macular degeneration typically occurs in older people. In 2010 it affected 23.5 million people globally. In 2013 moderate to severe disease affected 13.4 million and it is the fourth most common cause of blindness. It most commonly occurs in people over the age of fifty. About 0.4% of people between 50 and 60 have the disease, while it occurs in 0.7% of people 60 to 70, 2.3% of those 70 to 80, and nearly 12% of people over 80 years old.
Dr. Jonathan Wright and Tahoma Clinic have spent over 3 decades defining and administering a treatment for the dry form of ARMD that is found to be helpful for 7 out of 10 patients. The full program consists of supplements, testing, intravenous therapies and treatment of other health conditions that may be contributing factors, developed by Dr. Wright over a period of 30 years. While our program is approximately 70 percent effective to stabilize vision while reducing future vision loss (and in some cases, gaining visual acuity), it is almost impossible to know beforehand who will respond and be part of the 70% who gain benefit. Our program is specifically for the dry form of macular degeneration (there are some promising insights into the cause and treatment of the wet form, but we do not yet have sufficient data to claim any degree of success with the wet form).
The treatment program for ARMD at Tahoma Clinic lasts 8 weeks. Independent ophthalmologist reports of visual acuity and a letter confirming the diagnosis of the dry form of macular degeneration are needed for your first clinic appointment. At the end of treatment, you will be asked to check back with the original ophthalmologist for retest after 30 days of completing the full program.
If you are considering traveling to Tahoma Clinic for treatment, please download the case history form and mail it to Tahoma Clinic, 6839 Fort Dent Way, Suite 134, Tukwila, Washington 98188, “Attention: Macular Degeneration Coordinator”; fax it to 206-812-9989 “Attention: Macular Degeneration Coordinator”; or you may call and ask to speak to the Coordinator to arrange emailing the form and info.
- Be sure to include a copy of your ophthalmologist’s report showing the dry form of macular degeneration in one or both eyes.
- Please include any specific questions you have about the treatment or your particular eye condition so we have all of your information in one submittal. (for example, my eye was originally wet, then treated with laser, then became the dry form.)
- After review, one of our staff will get in touch with you to discuss a possible treatment program at Tahoma Clinic. After all is discussed to your satisfaction, our staff will set up your first consultation with our physician.
A few key points to be aware of:
- The formula cannot be pre-mixed and shipped. All treatments need to be done in-house.
- Successful treatment does not consist of intravenous nutrients only, it is a multi-pronged approach with lab testing, supplements, intravenous treatments, and addressing any contributing health factors.
Franchise Option for Physicians:
- The treatment is not available to other physicians unless they purchase the rights from Tahoma Clinic to be able to administer the full program. If a physician is interested, he or she may contact our clinic for more information on this option. Please note: Tahoma Clinic will only sell the treatment rights to M.D.s or N.D.s with proof of current medical license.
Below are testimonials from previous patients about their results:
“While taking the intravenous injections, I noticed some improvement in each eye… by the 13th injection I noticed improvements in various areas. The map in my right eye was less dense and my left eye was improved. My peripheral vision was not only improved in my right eye, I had none before. In fact, my entire peripheral vision was improved. I could see higher and lower. Color was visible from both eyes and I could see red and black. They were brighter and clearer.” ~ S.D.
“…the macular degeneration sounded like a sentence to blindness. I decided to take the I.V. treatments as I felt I had nothing to lose. By the ninth treatment, I felt that I could see better, objects were clearer and colors more brilliant. ..My eyes adjusted to the light much more quickly than before, television was easier to see and reading became easier. As an added bonus, I noticed that my hearing had improved some…I feel that the treatments have been very beneficial and worth the time and effort.” ~ G.G.
“I am delighted to provide a testimonial about…my experiences with you that I consider to be miraculous. I had a dark spot in the center of my vision that was partially blocking my ability to see and…read road signs. I consulted with two eye doctors, and then two eye specialists, and after extensive testing they told me that I had macular degeneration and there wasn’t anything that could be done about it, with the possibility that it would just be getting worse. I then consulted with you within weeks of this diagnosis, and I appreciated very much that you spent two hours with me in that initial visit investigating all the possible solutions…..Within a month after starting IV treatments my eyes returned to normal and I no longer had the vision blockage….When I went back to my eye doctor, after a thorough examination he stated that there was no trace left of the macular degeneration, and my vision that had previously been correctable to 20/50 was now 20/20. He stated that some things are unexplainable and he had not seen this happen before. I have not had any return of the macular degeneration.” ~ J.P.
“My wife and I want to thank all of you for the time spent at Tahoma Clinic. The results, after two months, were thrilling. She can now see clearly out of both her eyes. The Macular Degeneration has been stopped and reversed subject to taking her pills regularly.
PS: This experience has prompted both my wife and me to consider doing free seminars beginning next year. Most medical doctors seem to believe that macular degeneration is untreatable. Your research over the decades proves there is hope and the possibility of stopping and/or reversing M.D. We live in an area where lots of seniors have M.D.” ~ N.S., Palm Springs, CA, Patient of Dr. Lauren Russel
